About Fin

London based artist, Fin Lucas, has been honing her art for several years. Previously studying film practice with a passion for art, she went on to study painting at Leith School of Art, Edinburgh. This ignited her style incorporating bold and unafraid marks inspired by structural forms. She has since been working on various commissions including a series of paintings for Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2.

“My process usually combines working with large paint brushes on a large scale and creating/finding areas of tension within great structures. I use paint with the fluidity of dance to create my strong brush strokes while also relying on instinct. The use of colour is carefully considered and often my palette is stripped to black, white and a mid-grey. I feel transformed by the richness of colour particularly found in oil paint, colours like Prussian Blue revolutionize my palette. I build up an image and lose it on the canvas, it is then the process of finding the image once again that creates my final composition.”
